FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio engineering and can be used in receivers of radio engineering systems. In the automatic gain control method with a signal delay for the time of estimating the power of the additive mixture of signal and noise, the mixture of signal and noise is divided into two components. The value of the coefficient with which the signal is branched is set in advance. The first component of the signal is delayed by the time required to measure the power of the mixture of signal and noise and generate control voltages. The second term is amplified in an amplifier with a non-linear response, such as a logarithmic one, and the power of the mixture of signal and noise is estimated in a manner that squares the mixture of signal and noise and then compensates for the combined signal and noise components. This estimation of the power of the mixture of signal and noise provides high measurement accuracy in a short time. Based on the measured value of the power of the mixture of signal and noise, using pre-calculated dependencies, the levels of control voltages are determined, which are used to adjust the gains of the corresponding amplifiers of the mixture of signal and noise and form control voltages.
EFFECT: ensuring linear amplification of signals in a wide dynamic range in a rapidly changing interference environment.
