FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in communication equipment. Method of generating and processing a noise-like signal with high security involves additionally using amplitude keying of the signal. Information symbol (InS) is formed in the form of several groups of harmonics. Several InS are formed simultaneously. Groups of harmonics are numbered. Numbers of groups used to form one InN are determined using a first pseudorandom sequence of numbers (PSN), which is synchronized with a PSN generator of the transmitting station. Bands of groups of harmonics do not overlap, their values have different values. Total frequency band of the groups of harmonics corresponds to the frequency band of the signal. Harmonics of each group are generated with random value of frequencies, phases and with pseudorandom value of amplitudes. Values of amplitudes are set in a predetermined interval using the second PSN generator so that total energy of groups of harmonics forming InS corresponds to one of signal types. When receiving a signal, it is filtered in accordance with the used frequency bands. Noise, signal and noise power values are determined. Signal power value is calculated for each group of harmonics. Signal power values are summed up in accordance with pseudorandom numbers generated in the first PSN generator. A decision on the presence of a signal type for each group of frequencies is carried out based on the result of comparing the calculated signal power values with the corresponding threshold values.
