SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Proposed is a ball valve containing a hollow ball gate 11 with a boss 12 installed on a bearing 16 and with a drive lever 25. On the other side of the ball gate, a boss 13 installed on a bearing 17, with lubrication holes 20 and 21 connected with a groove 22. Grooves 18 and 19 are therein made on the ball gate 11 for installing compression rings 14 and 15, and a rectangular through hole 18 with a smaller side in the direction of rotation of the ball is made in the sphere of the ball gate, and seats 4 and 7 during assembly form an internal closed sphere 10 with holes 5 and 8 for centering the bosses 12 and 13 and with through holes 6 and 9 following the contour of the through hole 18 of the ball gate 11.
EFFECT: application of the proposed ball valve as an inlet or outlet valve of an internal combustion engine provides a possibility of improving the cooling of the valve, reducing the resistance to passing gases, eliminating the contact of the valve with the bottom of the piston, and increasing the compression in the cylinders.
