FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: system for exciting an iron core includes an electrical device having an iron core. Besides, it comprises inverter power supply to output excitation signal including harmonics to electric device to excite iron core. In addition, it comprises a modulation adjustment device for an inverter power supply, which controls the maximum value hmax and minimum value hmin of the field strength h in at least one partial hysteresis loop, so that losses (losses in iron, losses in copper and switching losses) of the whole system are less than losses of the whole system when the electric device operates with the target wave form (excluding harmonics).

EFFECT: reduction of losses in iron of iron core excited by inverter power supply.
