FIELD: agricultural machinery.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the repair of parts of agricultural machinery, in particular to methods and equipment for hardening the working surfaces of segment knives of grain and forage harvesters, and can be used in the service industry of agriculture and mechanical engineering. The method includes heating parts to a temperature of 830-1190 K, anodic polarization with a current with a density of 0.1 to 25.0 A/dm2, cooling, while pre-assembling the working electrode and placing it inside the auxiliary electrode filled with electrolyte, anodic polarization for 1-2 hours create a directed diffusion flow of carbon and alloying elements from the core into the working surfaces of the segment knives. In the working electrode, the hardened segment knives are placed one above the other horizontally with the back side downward with an interference connection on a U-shaped current lead that passes through the mounting holes of the knives, and the auxiliary electrode is made of a hollow metal cylinder with a flat bottom welded to the base and to its outer side surface vertical current lead.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the resource of both used segment knives and new ones in their manufacture.
