SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electroplating for the electrolytic application of shiny nickel coatings and can be used in everyday life, in medical instruments and in various fields of technology. The electrolyte contains nickel sulfate heptahydrate 270-340 g/l, sodium chloride 12 g/l, boric acid 40 g/l, a brightening additive - the product of the interaction of 2-chloropyridine with thiourea, taken in an equimolar ratio, at a concentration of 0.3-0, 5 g/l and water up to 1 liter.
EFFECT: obtaining shiny low-porosity coatings with high current efficiency.
