FIELD: coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to application of protective and decorative nickel coatings, in particular, to electrolytic application of bright nickel coatings with low internal stresses, and can be used in various branches of industry to increase the service life and durability of parts of machines and equipment. The method includes electrodeposition of the coating from an electrolyte containing nickel sulphate, nickel chloride, boric acid, brightening additive - isonicotinic acid and water, at the pH of the electrolyte of 4.0 to 4.5 and cathodic density of the current of 4 to 9 A/dm2, wherein the electrolyte additionally comprises picolinic acid at the following ratio of components, g/l: nickel sulphate 280 to 360; nickel chloride 50 to 60; boric acid 25 to 40; isonicotinic acid 0.5 to 1.0; picolinic acid 3 to 4, and electrodeposition is executed at a temperature of the electrolyte of 20°C while mixing resulting in bright nickel coatings with internal stresses of 82, 80, 70, 65 MPa with a thickness of the coating of 30 mcm.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is production of bright nickel coatings with low internal stresses.
