FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electroplating and can be used in different fields for making articles with water-proof and anti-corrosion coating. The electrolyte contains: nickel sulphate 220-260 g, nickel chloride 30-50 g, boric acid 30-50 g, phenolphthalein 1-3 mmol/l, alizarine red 1-3 mmol/l and up to 1 l water.
EFFECT: obtaining mirror-bright coating with high current output and minimal hydrogenation of steel base.
