SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in wireless communication systems. Information is received indicating any of at least first and second operating modes. for transmitting a distributed orthogonal discrete Fourier transform (DFT) frequency division multiplexing (DFT-s-OFDM) symbol, including a reference signal (RS), and transmitting a DFT-s-OFDM symbol, which includes: RS and data tones, provided that the information indicates the first mode; or RS and null tones, provided that the information indicates a second mode, wherein the DFT-s-OFDM symbol is divided into a number of segments, each of which includes a fragment of RS tones, and wherein any of the size or location of the fragment is determined in accordance with any of the first or second modes.

EFFECT: improvement of efficiency of reception/transmission of signals due to use of reference signal on channel state.
