FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer composition based on epoxy resins and cycloaliphatic dioxides, intended for making large-size articles. Polymer composition as a hardener contains a product of reaction of an epoxy component with a molar excess of di- or polyamine, where the epoxy component used is olefin mono- and dioxides, including cycloaliphatic or aliphatic-cycloaliphatic di- and triepoxides or mixtures thereof (A) in combination with compounds, containing triazine cycle (B) in ratio A:B from 95:5 to 40:60. In the process of producing hardeners, a liquid or molten di- or polyamine is first added to the reactor, and then an epoxy component is added thereto, wherein amine component is taken in 5÷25-fold molar excess with respect to the epoxy component, then a tertiary amine is added in amount of 0.1÷5  wt.pts. per 100  wt.pts. of reaction mass, stirred at temperature of 20°C to 160°C for 15 to 200 minutes, which is then introduced into the mixture of epoxy resin with a diluent and mixed at T=15–100°C for 15÷100 minutes at the following ratio of components, in weight parts: epoxy resin 100, thinner 10–150, hardener 20÷150.

EFFECT: increased viability of the polymer composition, reduced exothermicity and improved strength characteristics of articles when exposed to high temperatures, reduced tangent of dielectric loss angle, dielectric permittivity and increased time of arc resistance, which makes it possible to use polymer compositions as filling and impregnating compounds for electrical purposes.
