FIELD: computer technology; measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is claimed characterizing a computerized method, a carrier, a system for determining direction (TD) of travel for a user, wherein the method includes: receiving current location (CL) of the user; receiving pollution-based input value (PIV) related to air pollution in geographical area (GA) including current location (CL); determining direction (TD) of travel using the pollution-based input value so that the user is exposed to the lowest level of pollution, and/or so that the specified maximum level of pollution exposure, to which the user is exposed is not exceeded; obtaining an input value based on human activity, wherein the value based on human activity is based on activity data from portable device (100) made with the possibility of measuring the level of activity of a person wearing this portable device (100); and updating direction (TD) of travel using human activity-based input value (HAIV), wherein the formation of mentioned direction (TD) of travel is carried out depending on one or more of (i) a given maximum level of activity and (ii) a given maximum exposure to pollution.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the direction of travel or a change in the user’s location, taking into account the user’s activity and air pollution data.
