SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a connecting box for wall mounting, containing a box body (1) with a back base (2) and a sleeve (3) protruding forward from the base, wherein said sleeve surrounds the mounting space (4) for the installation component along the periphery, wherein said component is accessible through the open front end side (5) of the sleeve, a sleeve extension (6) configured to be installed coaxially on the sleeve and move axially in the backward direction relative to the sleeve, as well as a retaining apparatus (7) configured to move axially in the backward direction of the sleeve extension on the sleeve from the mounting position (M_S) to the end working position (E_S) at a variable axial level (H_E) and retain the sleeve extension in the end working position on the sleeve. According to one aspect of the invention, the retaining apparatus (7) comprises a retaining ribbed structure (7a) protruding radially from the sleeve (3) and made integrally with at least one adjacent axial section (3a) of the sleeve (3) made of an elastic sealing material, and a matching retaining structure (7b) interacting with the retaining ribbed structure by means of friction engagement and/or form-fit connection, provided on the sleeve extension and made of a material with a higher stiffness than the elastic sealing material. Additionally or alternatively, the connection box for wall mounting comprises a spacer element configured to be attached removably to the box body in the attachment position, wherein said spacer element is configured to secure the sleeve extension in the mounting position, preventing axial movement in the backward direction.
