SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to hair coloring. A liquid composition for hair coloring includes components (A) and (B), where content (X) of component (A) in the composition is 1.5-9.3 wt.%, content (Y) of component (B) in the composition is 9-98.5 wt.%, which satisfy the following formula: Y ≥ 10.875X - 10.875 (1), while excluding the composition, in which the diol content is 50 wt.% or more, and the water content is 2 wt.% or less; where (A) is azo dye of the following formula (A-1):

(B) is one or several selected from a group consisting of lower monatomic alcohol having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, monocyclic aromatic monatomic alcohol and diol having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms. A method for hair coloring is also disclosed.

EFFECT: group of inventions ensures the absence of precipitation of direct dyes during storage.
