FIELD: disposal of waste.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining the maximum volume of waste disposed of in reservoirs. Substance: reservoirs are modelled when injecting waste, based on the parameters of reservoir. The change in the reservoir pressure in rocks from injecting the liquid phase of waste is determined in the process of modelling. Depending on the changed reservoir pressure, the development of multiple fracturing is determined, as well as the width, height and volume of formed fractures. Considering the values of the width and height of fractures, the increase in the stress in the cells of the model caused by the development of fractures and the accumulation of the solid phase of waste therein is calculated. The calculated volume of fractures is compared with the predicted or actually injected volume of the solid phase at the current time since the start of injection. If the injected volume of the solid phase is less than the calculated volume of formed fractures, the increase in the stress in the cells of the model is adjusted for the volume of injection. The increase in the stress from the liquid phase of the waste due to pore pressure is calculated. The total increase in the stress from the accumulation of the solid and liquid phases of waste is then calculated by summing the increases in the stress from the solid and liquid phases. The maximum volume of waste is therein calculated as the injected volume of solid and liquid phases at the moment when the minimum stress in the cells of the model, connected to the injection borehole, reaches the maximum value of stress.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the maximum volume of waste disposed of in reservoirs, and expanded scope of use.
