SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a material for cold accumulation, made in the form of a granular body formed from an intermetallic compound, wherein the ThCr2Si2-type structure occupies at least 80% of the volume of the granular body, and the crystallites of the granular body are no larger than 70 nm, and in the ThCr2Si2-type structure, the Th node of the crystal lattice constitutes at least one element selected from a group including La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Sc and Y, the Si node constitutes at least one element from Si and Ge, and the Cr node constitutes at least one element selected from a group including Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ir and Pt. The invention also covers a method for producing the material, a refrigerator including the material, and an application of the material in an apparatus containing a superconducting coil equipped with a refrigerator.
