SUBSTANCE: application describes a material for cold preservation in one of the embodiments of the invention, which includes a rare-earth oxysulphide containing at least one rare-earth element selected from a group consisting of Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu, and an element of the first group in amount of 0.001 at % or more and 10 at % or less, in which the maximum value of the volumetric specific heat capacity in the temperature range from 2 to 10 K is 0.5 J/(cm3·K) or more.

EFFECT: increased volumetric specific heat and high heat conductivity of the material for preservation of cold.
