MULTI-CHANNEL ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTER Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC H03M1/12

Abstract RU 2771066 C1

FIELD: measuring electronics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analog-to-digital measuring electronics, in particular to analog-to-digital converters for converting analog signals into a digital code, and can be used to convert analog signals from sensors of physical quantities into digital format for further processing. The multichannel analog-to-digital converter contains a digital counter 1, frequency converters 2, voltage-to-pulse converters 3, digital registers 4 and a data processing and transmission unit 5. The clock input of the digital counter 1 is the clock input of the device. The output bus of the digital counter 1 is connected to the first inputs of the digital registers 4 and the inputs of the frequency converters 2. The number of bits of the output bus of the digital counter 1 determines the capacity of the multichannel analog-to-digital converter. The frequency converters 2 form the reference frequency for the voltage-to-pulse duration converters 3. The outputs of the frequency converters 2 are connected to the first inputs of the voltage-to-pulse duration converter 3. The second inputs of the voltage-to-pulse duration converters 3 are the device inputs for the measured voltage. The outputs of the voltage to pulse duration converters 3 are connected to the second inputs of the digital registers 4. The outputs of the digital registers 4 are connected to the data processing and transmission unit 5, which converts the parallel codes of the digital registers 4 into a sequence of pulses with transmission to the output of the device. The voltage-to-pulse converters 3 generate signals for recording data from the digital counter 1 and are made on the basis of a phase-locked loop.

EFFECT: increasing accuracy by reducing the mutual influence of the channels of the analog-to-digital converter on each other.
