FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgy of precious metals, in particular, pertains to extraction of precious metals from loaded activated carbons by desorption. Extraction of gold from loaded carbon includes pre-conditioning of loaded carbon in an alkaline cyanide solution and subsequent desorption of gold with hot water. Pre-conditioning is executed in an alkaline cyanide alcohol solution at a concentration of NaCN 0.065%, NaOH 0.02%, alcohol-benzene mixture (ABM) 0.02 to 0.04% with a ratio of alcohol and benzene in the ABM of 1/1.
EFFECT: method reduces the duration of the operation of gold desorption.
