FIELD: hydrometallurgy of precious metals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of gold from saturated activated carbons by desorption. Method of extraction of noble metals from saturated active coal includes preliminary conditioning of saturated coal and subsequent desorption of noble metals from coal with hot water. Saturated coal is pre-conditioned with a concentrated alcohol-benzene mixture for 10–30 minutes.
EFFECT: method provides reduction of duration of preliminary conditioning of gold-saturated coal and operation of gold desorption from saturated active carbon as a whole.
