SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical fiber. The claimed optical fiber contains: a core with a diameter 2a from 9 mcm to 14 mcm; a maximum refractive index n1, and a radial refractive index profile expressed by an exponent α from 1.5 to 10; and a shell located around the core and having a refractive index n0, which is lower than the maximum refractive index n1, in which the relative difference Δ1 of refractive indices in the core center, which is expressed as Δ1=100×(n12-n02)/(2n12), is from 0.346% to 0.487%. In this case, optical fiber has a zero-dispersion wavelength equal to 1300 nm or longer, and 1324 nm or shorter, a cable length λcc of a cut-off wave of 1260 nm or shorter, bending losses at a wavelength of 1550 nm equal to 0.25 dB or less in the case, when ten turns of optical fiber are wound with a bending diameter of 30 mm, and a fiber length λc of a cut-off wave. In this case, the difference (λc-λcc) between the fiber length λc of the cut-off wave and the cable length λcc of the cut-off wave is from 50 nm to 100 nm.

EFFECT: creation of optical fiber with a macro-bending index value equal to the value of the macro-bending index of conventional single-mode optical fiber, which complies with recommendation G.652 of the standardization sector of the International Telecommunication Union, and having small bending losses.
