FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical fibres having low bend losses. The fibre has a germanium dioxide-doped central region of the core, having an external radius r1 and a refraction index Δ1. A first region of the inner cladding has an external radius r2 greater than 8 mcm and a refraction index Δ2. A second region of the outer cladding surrounds the region of the inner cladding, having a refraction index Δ3, where Δ1>Δ3>Δ2. The difference between Δ3 and Δ2 is greater than 0.01. The fibre has a cutoff of a 22 m cable less than or equal to 1260 nm, and r1/r2 greater than or equal to 0.25.
EFFECT: obtaining an optical fibre with low bend losses.
