RADIAL BEARING ASSEMBLY Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC F16C17/03 F16C39/06

Abstract RU 2771706 C1

FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of power engineering and can be used in the design of, for example, gas turbine installations operating both in closed and open cycles at high boost pressures in bearings and temperature gradients, as well as generators. The radial bearing assembly includes a hollow housing, in the cavity of which a sleeve made of segments is placed, and a trunnion placed with the possibility of rotation in the cavity of the sleeve. The sleeve segments are made in the form of grooved elongated elements of the same angular length, on the surface of which, facing the trunnion, plates are fixed made of permanent magnets with alternating tangential magnetization. The outer surface formed by plates of permanent magnets and facing the trunnion is cylindrical with the formation of a working gap with the surface of the trunnion, in addition, the segments of the sleeve are separated from each other by wedges made in the form of T-shaped plates with the possibility of fastening to the body. The contacting side edges of the wedges and segments of the sleeve are made with the possibility of engaging the latter first. Elastic gaskets with longitudinal corrugations are placed between the housing and the sleeve segments. The housing is equipped with nozzles for the input of compressed gas with the possibility of supplying it to the working gap between the surface of the permanent magnet plates and the surface of the trunnion, a system of communicating channels is made in the volume of the sleeve segments, connected to the nozzles for the input of compressed gas, made with the possibility of supplying compressed gas from an external source. The outlet openings of the system of communicating channels are connected to the working gap through radial feed holes passing through the segments of the sleeve and the strips of permanent magnets. The sleeve segments and the trunnion are made of a material with high magnetic permeability, plates of the same thickness are fixed on the surface of the sleeve segments facing the trunnion, radial feed holes pass through the segments of the sleeve and the plates, and the outer surface formed by the plates and facing the trunnion is cylindrical with the formation of a working gap with the surface of the trunnion. The plate, which is fixed on the surface of the lower segment of the sleeve and the adjacent plates, which are fixed on the surface of the lower sections of other segments of the sleeve and the side edges of which are in contact with the wedges, are made of antifriction material, and the remaining plates are made in the form of permanent magnets with alternating tangential opposite directions of magnetization, between which the plates are made of a material with high magnetic permeability.

EFFECT: ensuring a high bearing capacity of the radial bearing assembly in operating mode while reducing friction losses and small weight and size characteristics in it, reliable start of the turbomachine, as well as increasing the stability of the rotor to a “half-speed vortex” and reducing the deformation of the gap in the gas-static bearing at high boost pressures.
