FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cathode block for aluminum electrolyzer based on carbon and/or graphite has at least one groove for receiving at least one bus, while the mentioned groove passes in a longitudinal direction of the cathode block, while at least one of at least one groove has a depth that varies, when viewed along the length of the cathode block. At least one recess that passes horizontally in the longitudinal direction of the cathode block is provided in a wall of the cathode block, adjacent to at least one groove. The cathode block for aluminum electrolyzer based on carbon and/or graphite has at least one groove for receiving at least one bus, while the mentioned groove passes in the longitudinal direction of the cathode block, while at least one of at least one groove has a depth that varies, when viewed along the length of the cathode block, while this groove is limited with a wall, while at least one protrusion that protrudes to the groove is provided on the mentioned wall.
EFFECT: in cathode block, in particular for use in aluminum electrolyzer, homogenous vertical current distribution is achieved along the length of the cathode block, when operating electrolyzer.
