FIELD: electrical power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes collection of information about the state of the wire by three reading apparatuses sending a survey signal over a radio channel to at least one wireless radio frequency passive acoustic electronic temperature sensor installed on the wire of overhead lines. Each reading apparatus has at least one separate temperature sensor wherein a modulated response signal carrying temperature information is generated. The reading apparatuses process the survey signal reflected from the passive acoustic electronic temperature sensor, converting the information on the modulation of the response signal into information on the change on the temperature of the wire of overhead lines. The controller built into the cabinet of the system collects temperature information from each of the three reading apparatuses and transmits the data over a wireless network to the operator on a remote server.
EFFECT: reduction in the time of delay when obtaining information about the state of a conducting wire and increase in the reliability of the obtained data.
