Device for monitoring vibroacoustic characteristics of power cables and wires comprises interconnected narrow-band continuous laser; optical-acoustic modulator; transmitting optical amplifier; optical circulator; sensitive optical fibre; receiving optical amplifier; optical filter; quadrature optical receiver for two polarization planes; four-channel signal processing unit; frequency filter; post-processing, control and synchronization unit; computer; four-channel adjustable amplifier; four-channel analogue-to-digital converter; splitter with preservation of polarization; receiving-transmitting optical module; amplifying optical module; pulse probing signal processing unit; a driver-adder of the modulating signal of the optical-acoustic modulator; continuous probing signal processing unit; four-channel narrow-band controlled continuous probing signal amplifier; second four-channel analogue-to-digital converter; second four-channel signal processing unit; second frequency filter; pulse probing signal filter; continuous probing signal filter.

EFFECT: expanded operating performances by expanding the recorded frequency range of vibroacoustic actions on the fibre optic cable while maintaining resolution and range when determining the place of vibroacoustic action.
