SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a multilayer substrate, wherein the substrate is provided with a multifunctional coating, as well as to a use of the produced substrate. The method for producing a multilayer substrate includes the following stages of: a) providing a first material with a first surface having at least one edge area and at least one inner area surrounded by the edge area; b) applying a coating material to the inner area of the first surface, wherein the coating material includes expandable microparticles; c) drying the coating material and d) bringing the first surface of the first material and the surface of the second material into contact forming a multilayer material so that the coating material is located between the first material and the second material, characterised by the fact that the contact at stage d) is executed using an adhesive substance, wherein the adhesive substance is applied continuously to the edge area of the first material.

EFFECT: production of a packaging material capable of absorbing mechanical shocks, convenient in stocking and transportation.
