FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering; it can be used in the manufacture of solid-fuel rocket engine (hereinafter – SFRE) cases from composite materials. In a method for sealing the SFRE case made of a composite material, containing front and rear bottoms and a power shell in the form of a cocoon made by continuous winding, a wound shell of the second cocoon and flat cables of an on-board cable network installed in the inter-cocoon space, the engine case is installed in a vertical position and rests with the rear bottom on technological equipment, forming a sealed joint with it, then, air is pumped out of the closed volume formed by the rear bottom of the engine and technological equipment to ensure a pressure drop between front and rear engine bottoms, and from the front bottom of the engine, cavities of the inter-cocoon space between flat cables and cavities at cable installation sites are filled with glue-compound, after that, sealing is performed by applying sealant to the front bottom, including input points of flat cables.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability of the design, expansion of the functionality of SFRE cases as an integral part of the aircraft.
