SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry; it can be used for the treatment of chronic catarrhal gingivitis. A method includes professional cleaning of teeth and removal of dental deposits, characterized in that oral baths are additionally used, using an antiseptic composition heated to 34-36°C, containing 0.2 wt.% of polyaminopropyl biguanide, after eating and removing food residues with a toothbrush with medium-hardness bristles with an exposure of 1.5-2 minutes for a course of 10 days, wherein the first three days oral baths are used 3-4 times a day, and in following days – 2 times a day.

EFFECT: use of the invention provides for enhancing the efficiency of the treatment of chronic catarrhal gingivitis using a composition that has activity against pathogenic microflora, simplifying the procedure, reducing the duration of treatment.
