SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of synthesis of salts of an inorganic compound, in particular iron (II) chloride, and can be used in industrial and laboratory chemistry, in methods of analytical control. The method for producing iron (II) chloride includes the interaction of iron shavings with hydrochloric acid with the addition of shavings during the reaction, the process is carried out at room temperature in a haloalkanes medium at a mass ratio of iron and hydrochloric acid of 1:1, while the acid is loaded through a dropping funnel, and iron chips are added during the reaction twice with stirring with a mechanical stirrer at a speed of 400 to 800 rpm, the precipitate is filtered off using a Schott funnel and dried in a stream of inert gas.

EFFECT: product yield is more than 93% for iron.
