FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to an artificial knee joint with automatic adjustment of walking pace. The knee joint contains the femoral and lower leg parts connected by a rotation mechanism, and a braking mechanism installed inside the joint. The femoral and lower leg parts are made in the form of upper and lower support forks connected pivotally with the body of the braking mechanism covering the braking roller. The braking mechanism is made with a centrifugal braking force regulator based on a multi-disc clutch with a small outer diameter. The upper fork is connected on one side to the driver of the accelerating planetary gear train, the first central wheel of which with internal engagement is fixed in the housing and through the gear satellites is connected to the second central gear wheel with external engagement, which is connected to the braking roller. At one end of the braking roller, a disc is formed on which the load plates of the centrifugal regulator are pivotally fixed. In each cargo plate in the area of the hinge, a protrusion is formed in the form of a short lever arm, which is inserted into the groove of the sleeve of the pressure device. At the second end of the sleeve of the pressure device, a pressure disc is also formed with a groove connected to the first shoulder of the driving fork, pivotally fixed in the housing with the possibility of performing the second function of the braking part of the braking mechanism, namely the support brake mode operating in the support phase. A spline crown is fixed at the second end of the braking roller. A spline holder with internal splines is fixed in the housing on the same side. Alternating movable and fixed brake plates are inserted into the spline part of the braking device, respectively, with internal and external splines. The plates are made of titanium alloy, and the others are made of steel. The lower support fork of the device is mounted in the housing pivotally with the possibility of pressure on the second shoulder of the driving fork with a minimum angle of rotation in the support phase.
EFFECT: it is possible to automatically adjust the device to the walking pace required by the disabled person, as well as blocking the flexion-extension of the lower leg when applying a load during the period from the beginning of the support to the final phase of the disabled person’s step.
