SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for automatic analysis. Reaction vessel for use in an automatic analyser for analysing a sample by using a reagent, in the shape of a cylinder with a first axis located in the centre, the total length whereof in the direction of the first axis exceeds the total length in the direction of the second axis and the total length in the direction of the third axis, wherein the second axis is perpendicular to the first axis, and the third axis is perpendicular to the first axis and the second axis, comprises: an outlet part for distributing liquid in the section at one end in the direction of the first axis; a first flat surface, one of the sides whereof extends in the direction of the first axis, and the other side extends in the direction of the second axis from the section at the other end in the direction of the first axis; and a second flat surface, predominantly parallel to the first flat surface in the section facing the first flat surface in the direction of the third axis,

wherein sections are provided on the sides of the first flat surface and the second side surface, curving in the direction of the outer side of the reaction vessel, and the length of the first flat surface and the second flat surface in the direction of the first axis is less than half of the total length in the direction of the first axis, wherein the outer wall of the reaction vessel is made so that a part other than the first flat surface and the second flat surface is in close contact with the inner wall of the hole for placing the reaction vessel of a thermostat in order to promote the reaction of the mixture consisting of a reagent and a sample when the reaction vessel is placed in the hole.

EFFECT: possibility of measuring the amount of light entering from the reaction liquid without impairing the function of maintaining the predetermined temperature of the reaction vessel.
