FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for obtaining sorbents. A method for obtaining a sorbent for gas purification from sulfur compounds is described, consisting in mixing a zinc-containing component with aluminum oxide and an aqueous solution, forming granules, drying and calcining them, and as zinc-containing raw materials, zinc metal powder is used, which is first crushed together with aluminum oxide at a mass ratio of Zn:Al2O3 = 1: (0.15- 0.56), and then mixed by heating with the addition of water with ammonium bicarbonate NH4HCO3 and ammonium paramolybdate (NH4)6Mo7O24*4H2O in the amount necessary to achieve the content of molybdenum oxide in the finished sorbent 0.5-3.0 wt. %.
EFFECT: increase in the mechanical strength of the sorbent, an increase in its catalytic activity.
