FIELD: nuclear power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for monitoring of a nuclear reactor containing a reactor core, into which fuel assemblies are loaded, while each assembly contains nuclear fuel rods, each of which contains nuclear fuel tablets and a shell surrounding tablets. The method contains following stages: determination (100) of at least one maximum duration (TFPPI) of the reactor operation at intermediate power in order to avoid the rupture of at least one of shells, operation (102) of the nuclear reactor at intermediate power during the actual duration strictly less than the maximum duration (TFPPI), and weakening (104) of at least one protection threshold of a nuclear power plant depending on the difference between the maximum duration (TFPPI) and the actual duration, wherein the protection threshold is a linear power limit at any point of the reactor core.
EFFECT: invention allows for the improvement of reactor manageability with simultaneous provision of reliable operation during the operation of a reactor core.
