FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and control system for a multiphase electric machine, in particular an asynchronous machine. The asynchronous machine contains: a rotor, a stator and at least two phase windings. The control method includes: supplying at least one electrical signal, in particular a voltage signal to at least one phase winding and measuring or determining the electrical signal format (current waveform) in at least one phase winding. At the same time, the intermodulation component of the signal caused by the groove effects and the effects of magnetic saturation in a multiphase electric machine is used to control the multiphase electric machine. The intermodulation component of the signal is determined from the specified signal format defined or measured in at least one phase winding.
EFFECT: angular position and/or rotation speed of the rotor of the multiphase electric machine is determined by means of an electrical signal format.
