FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used to measure the humidity of various gases, including air. The method is based on measuring the relative permittivity of a gas using a parametric characteristic — dependence of the relative permittivity as a function of humidity. A measuring electrical circuit is constructed, consisting of a capacitive capacitance converter, a sinusoidal oscillation generator and an active load, connected in series. The phase shift of voltages of the generator and the load is measured by the magnitude of relative time shift. By dividing the constant of the measuring electrical circuit by the relative time shift, the value of relative permittivity of the gas is calculated, and based on the resulting magnitude, the value of humidity of the gas is then found, using the parametric characteristic.

EFFECT: method allows obtaining the value of humidity of the studied gas with high reliability; invention is implemented in the form of simple design solutions.
