FIELD: pharmaceutical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pharmaceutical industry, namely to a sorbent based on a protein-polysaccharide complex of brown algae. Sorbent based on the protein-polysaccharide complex (PPC) of brown algae for sorption of heavy metal ions and medium-molecular toxicants, with active sorption centers: carboxyl, hydroxyl, amino groups; with a developed mesoporous structure and the ability to work in a wide pH range: from 2 to 10 units, the PPC includes: mannitol, easily hydrolyzable polysaccharides (EHP), proteins, alginic acid salts, cellulose, ash, in a certain ratio to each other.
EFFECT: sorbent described above exhibits high sorption activity with respect to heavy metals and medium-molecular endotoxins in conditions close to the conditions of the human gastrointestinal tract.
