FIELD: algae processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of complex processing of brown algae. A method for isolating cellulose from the biomass of arctic brown algae includes isolating a protein-polysaccharide complex by supercritical fluid extraction of crushed algae with carbon dioxide using ethanol as a co-solvent, further extraction of defatted algae with a hydrochloric acid solution in three repetitions, washing the biomass with distilled water until a neutral reaction, extraction with a solution sodium carbonate to remove alginates in three successive stages, washing the biomass with water in six stages to obtain a protein-polysaccharide complex. The resulting protein-polysaccharide complex is subjected to bleaching with a hydrogen peroxide solution with a concentration of 30 wt.% at a temperature of 90°C in two stages with a duration of each stage of 1.5 hours at a hydromodulus of 1:50. After that, the isolated celluloses are dried by a lyophilic method at a pressure of 8.9 Pa, an ice condenser temperature of -55.4°C, for 24 hours with a preliminary freezing of cellulose preparations at -20°С for 8 hours.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain low-altered native algal cellulose of high purity with the structure closest to microcrystalline cellulose, with a yield of 49.6 - 49.8%.
