FIELD: wastewater purification.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the purification of industrial wastewater from heavy metal ions by sorption using biological sorbent. The method of obtaining microporous sorbent in form of bacterial cellulose includes microbiological synthesis of bacterial cellulose by producer of Gluconacetobacter sucrofermentans VKPM V-11267 under static cultivation conditions for 5 days, followed by two-stage chemical treatment with 0.25M NaOH solution for 2 h at a temperature of 80° C, 0.2 n. solution of HCl for 1 h at a temperature of 90° С in the ratio between sorbent and reagent of 1:10 (by weight) at each stage, with intermediate stages of washing sorbent with distilled water at room temperature from excess reagent, freezing at minus 50° С for 24h of hydrated bacterial cellulose, followed by freeze-drying for 48 hours at pressure of 0.035 mbar, grinding on knife mill to particle size of 2-3 mm.

EFFECT: invention permits obtaining a microporous sorbent in the form of freeze-dried bacterial cellulose, subjected to a preliminary two-stage chemical treatment, with the ability to extract heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions.
