FIELD: oil refining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of oil refining. A method for processing heavy oil with a high content of asphaltenes into gasoline and diesel fractions by catalytic cracking with a catalyst is described, and a salt of hexaqua nickel nitrate or solutions of this salt in ethyl alcohol or acetone taken in a ratio of 1:1 is used as a catalyst, forming nickel oxide in the process of cracking in situ, in terms of NiO, in an amount of 0.15-0.50 wt. %, relative to the initial heavy oil, the process is carried out at a temperature of 450°C.
EFFECT: increase in the yield of gasoline (NK-200°C) and diesel (200-360°C) fractions.
