FIELD: oil refining and petrochemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for processing heavy oil in order to obtain gasoline and diesel fractions. Invention relates to a method of processing heavy oil into gasoline and diesel fractions during catalytic cracking in the presence of a dispersed catalyst based on iron (III) oxide, which passes in a nitrogen medium at temperature of 450 °C, and the catalyst precursor used is a nonahydrate salt of iron (III) nitrate or solutions of the same salt in ethanol or acetone, taken in ratio of 1:1, forming iron (III) oxide during cracking in situ, in amount of 0.10–0.50 wt.%, with respect to initial heavy oil.
EFFECT: increasing output of gasoline (NK-200 °C) and diesel (200–360 °C) fractions to 55–63,8 wt.%, which will allow increasing the depth of hydrocarbon material processing.
