FIELD: measuring technology.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to control and measuring equipment and can be used in systems for automatically determining the level of bulk substances in various sectors of the national economy, for example, in agriculture, when measuring the level of grain in silos, flour, fertilizers, in the construction materials industry, when measuring the level of sand, gravel, crushed stone, cement, expanded clay and others. The method for measuring the level of bulk substances consists in the fact that the sensing element, lowered into the measured substance to the maximum possible depth, is periodically rotated using an electric motor and the values are measured by which the level of bulk substances is determined, while the sensing element is made in the form of a measuring tape with a specified thickness, determining the working angle of twisting of the tape, width, with a given torsion moment of the tape, limited by the amount at which the part of the tape located in the bulk material does not rotate, and when the tape stops after reaching the torsion moment of a given value, the value of the twisting angle of the tape is calculated as the difference between the final and initial angles of rotation of the tape, according to which the level of bulk substances is determined.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the level regardless of the type of substance, its fractional structure, degree of compaction, humidity.
