FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallurgy of precious metals and can be used for processing concentrates based on base metals containing rhodium, iridium, ruthenium. The method for processing concentrates based on base elements containing rare metals of the platinum group includes repulping the product in water, treating the pulp with acid, separating the insoluble residue, chlorinating the insoluble residue in hydrochloric acid, while after acid treatment the pulp is treated with an oxidizer, as which sodium chlorate, chlorine or hydrogen peroxide solution are used, until the ORP value is reached, equal to 350-450 mV, relative to the silver chloride reference electrode.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the degree of extraction of rare metals of the platinum group by transferring the main part of the impurities of base elements into the solution and concentrating platinum group metals in a separate industrial product.
