FIELD: benzene purification.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for deep purification of benzene from thiophene by distillation. The method is characterized by the fact that the process is carried out in two continuous columns under vacuum at a residual pressure at the top of the columns of 13 kPa, and the efficiency of the first column is 140 theoretical plates and the efficiency of the second column is 75 theoretical plates, with the supply of benzene fraction to the middle part of the first column, with selection from of the first column of high-purity benzene in the form of a distillate and bottom product, which is fed into the middle part of the second column, from which pure thiophene is taken from the bottom, and the distillate is returned as a recycle to the first column for separation together with the initial benzene fraction.
EFFECT: invention provides a high degree (up to 99.5% - 99.8%) of separation from the benzene fraction of benzene with a thiophene content of not more than 0.00005 wt.% and the selection of thiophene with a purity of at least 99.1 wt.% at a recovery rate of 98.9% - 99.4% and a reduction in the amount of waste.
