FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to internal diseases, and can be used to predict the outcome in patients with chronic heart failure. The content of hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1), endogenous erythropoietin (eEPO) is determined in blood serum. The hypoxic index is calculated from the formula: eEPO (mIU/ml)/HIF-1 (ng/ml). At a level thereof equal to or less than 287 mIU/ng, a favourable outcome is predicted within a year in a patient with chronic heart failure.
EFFECT: possibility of reliable prediction of a favourable outcome in a patient with chronic heart failure within the next year of observation, which is important to determine the therapeutic strategy, by using hypoxic biomarkers: HIF-1 and endogenous erythropoietin of blood serum.
