FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to therapy and cardiology, and can be used for prediction of risk of lethal outcome in comorbid patients with chronic heart failure. Blood sampling is performed, NT-pro BNP level in blood plasma, haemoglobin are evaluated, determination of presence or absence of previous myocardial infarction (AMI), atrial fibrillation (AF) of both paroxysmal and permanent forms in anamnesis, mild or moderate anaemia at the time of hospitalization with a haemoglobin level of less than 120 g/l for women and less than 130 g/l for men, as well as development of community-acquired pneumonia. A parameter of probability of fatal outcome during a year is calculated – p by the formula: p=1/(1+e-z)⋅100%, z=-4.13+Xpneumonia⋅1.13+XNT-proBNP⋅0.000515+XAF⋅1.14+XPICS⋅1.45+Xanaemia⋅1.16, where p is probability of fatal outcome, %; e is a mathematical constant approximately equal to 2.71828; Xpneumonia – if present – 1, if not – 0 pneumonia at the time of hospitalization; XAF – if present – 1, if not – 0 any forms of AF in past medical history; XPICS – if present – 1, if not – 0 suffered AMI in anamnesis; Xanaemia – if present – 1, if not – 0 anaemia of mild and moderate severity at the time of hospitalization; XNT-proBNP is NT-pro BNP concentration, pg/ml. If p is equal to or more than 23%, a high probability of a fatal outcome within a year is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the accuracy of prediction of the development of the lethal outcome in the patients with chronic heart failure throughout the range of the left ventricular ejection fraction by assessing the level of NT-pro BNP, blood plasma haemoglobin and the declared clinical diagnostic values of the patient.
