METHOD FOR PRODUCING COLOURED SPECKLED CERAMIC GROG PRODUCTS (VARIANTS) Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC C04B33/13

Abstract RU 2773836 C1

FIELD: building.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the production of building materials. Method for producing coloured speckled ceramic grog products: tiles, paving bricks, face and clinker bricks, includes the production of a mass containing clay and grog, moistening, moulding products, drying and firing. According to the first variant of the method, the mass is produced additionally using a colouring additive – a proppant firing defect: crushed skull, non-standard fired granules of 0 to 2.0 mm and/or 0 to 0.6 mm fraction, at the following ratio of components of the mass, wt.%: fire-resistant clay or kaolin 40.0 to 50.0, grog 10.0 to 35.0, additive 20.0 to 50.0, wherein fire-resistant clay or kaolin with a content of Al2O3 over 20 wt.% and grog with a content of Al2O3 of at least 33 wt.% are used, the grog is mixed with the additive, moistened with a clay slip, stirred, the fire-resistant clay or kaolin is added, the mass is stirred and homogenised, followed by semi-dry pressing of products and drying, the products are then fired with a holding time of 4:40 to 7:30 hours at a temperature of 1,250 to 1,380°C, depending on the desired colour – from straw to terracotta, with speckles. According to the second variant of the method, the mass is produced using a colouring additive – a proppant firing defect: crushed skull, non-standard fired granules of 0 to 0.6 mm fraction, at the following ratio of components of the mass, wt.%: fire-resistant clay 45.0 to 50.0, additive 50.0 to 55.0, wherein fire-resistant clay with a content of Al2O3 over 20 wt.% is used, the additive is stirred, moistened with a clay slip, stirred, the fire-resistant clay is added, the mass is stirred and homogenised, followed by semi-dry pressing of products and drying, the products are then fired with a holding time of 5:50 to 7:30 hours at a maximum temperature of 1,370 to 1,380°C in order to achieve terracotta colouring with a small amount of speckling.

EFFECT: production of coloured speckled ceramic grog products painted to the entire thickness, with increased strength and frost resistance, with a simultaneously provided solution of the problem of disposal of man-made waste.
