SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a carpet or a rug, including the following stages: a stage (S1-S2) of forming a primary base (1), constituting a layer of woven or non-woven material containing threads (2) of polyethylene terephthalate and a copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate, wherein coPET has a lower melting point than PET, and wherein said PET is present in said primary base (1) in a larger amount than said coPET; a stage of creating an adhesive layer (11) consisting of 50% or more coPET; a stage of stitching at least said primary base (1) with a thread; a stage of activating the adhesive layer (11) to partially secure the yarn (12) on said primary basis (1).
EFFECT: production of carpets or rugs on a PET-containing base.
