FIELD: textile industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of finishing compositions for finishing woven and nonwoven materials, namely fixing the pile when making carpets using the tufting technology, imparting additional strength, crease resistance, carcass to the finished product, to prevent fiber separation. Composition for finishing carpet articles contains the following components in the following ratio, wt.pts.: aqueous dispersion of polyvinyl acetate 63–90, thickener-stabilizer—polyurethane thickener 0.5–5, kaolin 0–5, process additives—medium pH regulators <1, water—up to 100 in the recipe.

EFFECT: creation of improved water-based impregnating composition for tufted carpets, capable of maintaining its stability for a long time and providing fixation of the pile and giving the carpet products additional strength, carcass, as well as preservation of the shape of the finished product, for example, absence of distortions, wavy edge.
