FIELD: inorganic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry, namely to the recovery of waste products from the production of cadmium tungstate for growing CdWO4 crystals, which is a promising material for use in spectroscopic and radiometric equipment, computed tomography and scintillation bolometers. The method for waste recovery from the production of cadmium tungstate CdWO4 consists in first mixing cadmium oxide with tungsten trioxide in a stoichiometric ratio of 1.13-1.15, heating the resulting mixture to a temperature of 1000°C in air to obtain a material of superstoichiometric composition CdzWO4 (z=1.13-1.15), and then it is fused with production wastes of the composition CdxWO4 (x=0.95-0.97) removed from the crucible after crystal growth, followed by three-fold recrystallization of the melt by the Czochralski method to obtain crystals of the stoichiometric composition CdWO4.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of waste-free industrial growth of CdWO4 crystals with minimal losses for the processing of the residual melt.
