The method also includes the second cutting stage, while sheets are transported in one direction, for cutting sheets in a direction intersecting with the transportation direction, using the second cutting mechanism to obtain a set of sheet elements. The second cutting mechanism contains a cutting roller supported with the possibility of rotation around the axis and containing a cutting blade on the peripheral surface, and a support roller provided opposite the cutting roller. The second cutting stage is carried out by insertion of sheets between the cutting roller rotating around the axis and the support roller. The circular speed of the cutting roller is higher than the speed of insertion of sheets between the cutting roller and the support roller.
